the case with flat-topreconverted rising hood with blind-fret carved cornice, spiral-twist pilasters to the angles, glazed side panels, the square-top trunk door with concave mouldings to the borders, on crossbanded block plinth, the 10in. (25.5cm.) square brass dial signed Johannes Beale Londini, winged cherub mask spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, the matted centre with subsidiary silvered seconds ring, shuttered winding holes and date aperture, the five latched ringed pillar movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel strike, bolt and shutter maintaining power ; the case with alterations and reveneered -- 73¾in. (187cm.) high
