Newton's New and Improved Celestial Globe on which all the stars nebulae and clusters contained in the extensive catalogue of the late F. Wollaston FRS are accurately laid down their right ascensions and declineations having been recalculated for the year 1830 by W. Newton Manufactured by Newton & Son 66 Chancery Lane London and 3 Fleet Street Temple Bar. Engraved by T Starling Wilmington Square.
A 20-inch diameter celestial library globe made up of twelve delicately coloured and printed paper gores, the constellations shown traditionally as mythical beasts, figures and scientific instruments, with magnitude chart (the gores with some paper loss, abrasions and cracking, a hole approx. ¼-inch diameter above "Robur Caroli"), with engraved brass meridian circle (the horizon ring with paper loss and abrasions), on traditional mahogany stand, the turned pillar with three cabiole legs terminating in spade-feet and castors (lacking compass and cross stretchers) -- 42-inches (106.7cm.) high
