the pagoda-topped hood with pierced sound frets to the top and sides, flanked by fluted column uprights with brass caps below three spiked- orb brass finials, the arched brass dial with silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed George Buroes, London within foliate 'C' scroll spandrels, strike/silent ring to the arch, the matted centre with seconds ring and pierced blued-steel pointers, the trunk with conforming pilasters on a stepped plinth with bracket feet and swept apron, the three train movement with quarter strike on eight bells and hour strike on a further bell, with anchor escapement, with pendulum, one cast-iron and one brass weight -- 99½in. (252.5cm.) high
