An early Victorian mahogany longcase clock, circa 1840
The case with rosette capped swan neck pediment to the hood, glazed side panels, part fluted side columns with brass Corinthian capitals, with chamfered angles flanking the onion top arched trunk door, the plinth on bracket feet with wavy apron, the grey and white dial with cottage scenes painted to the spandrels and swans in a castle lake to the arch, subsidiary seconds ring and rubbed signature to the centre, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 86½in. (219cm.) high
