The hood with brass-capped swan neck pediment and outset columns, the cross-banded square top trunk door flanked by reeded sides, on cross-banded plinth with stepped base, the 11½in. (29cm.) square white dial with painted apple spandrels, with subsidiary seconds ring and date aperture to the centre signed TAYLOR ILMINSTER, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement -- 80in. (203cm.) high
