The curved back inlaid with frutiewood, C-scrolls foliate arabesque motifs, on scroll supports headed with winged lion head, with blanch patena and scrolling horn with lotus leaf to the sides on paw feet, the back wand the seat covered in a blue and yellow cotton (2)

Lot Essay

A pair of Russian bergeres with related winged-head lion-monopodiae originally from the collection of Baron and Baroness Berndt Aminoff was sold anonymously in these Rooms, 10 December 1987, lot 111 (£ 9,000).
