The case with brass handle to breakarch top with bud finials, arched brass fishscale and fan sound frets to the sides, the front angles with mounts cast with entwined ornament, on stepped base with bracket feet, the brass dial with silvered Roman chapter ring with Arabic five minutes, signed below XII DENT within triangular trade mark and ROYAL EXCHANGE CORNHILL, further inscribed & 61-STRAND-LONDON 49294, with matted centre and pierced blued hands, gilt mask and foliate spandrels, the arch with subsidiary rings for slow/fast and chime on 8 bells/Westminster chimes, with lattice work sound fret to rear door, the triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement with hour strike on gong and quarter chimes on a nest of eight bells, with repeat signature to the backplate with pendulum holdfast
