A fine 1in. scale model of a single cylinder two speed four shaft Showman's Road Locomotive well engineered by Maxwell Hemmens with silver soldered copper boiler No. CM0197.6.93 with normal fittings, single cylinder ¾in. bore x 1in. stroke, mechanical lubricator, Stephenson's link reverse, counterbalanced crankshaft, two road speeds, eccentric driven feed pump and by-pass, disc flywheel and belt driven smoke box extension mounted round frame dynamo. Chassis details include sprung front axle, worm and roller chain steering, spoked wheels with rubber tyres and brass hubcaps, cable drum, cable and fairleads, damper, working headlamps, full length canopy with extension chimney mounted on 'barley sugar' supports and hand operated band brake to rear axle. Finished in mint original maroon and cream with yellow, cream and red lining and polished brightwork, the canopy lettered 'Maxwell Hemmens, Engineers, Thorganby, York' -- 12½ x 22in. (31 x 56cm.).
