A FINE PAIR OF FAMILLE ROSE 'BAJIXIANG' BOWLS
JIAQING SIX-CHARACTER SEAL MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD (1796-1820)
The pair of bowls are well potted, each with steep rounded sides rising to a slightly flared rim. The exterior is finely enamelled with the 'Eight Buddhist Emblems', bajixiang between a band of iron-red keyfret around the rim and overlapping ruyi-lappets around the base.

Lot Essay

This pattern was first seen on Qianlong period bowls, and reproduced during successive reign periods. Compare to a similar pair of Jiaqing bowls of the same pattern from the Jingguantang Collection sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 27 May 2008, lot 1778.
