A George II oak thirty-hour longcase clock, mid 18th century
The hood with stepped top, columns detached, rear slats lacking, plain rectangular trunk door with brass escutcheon, the plinth raised on simple bracket feet, the 9¾in. square brass dial with female mask and foliate spandrels to a silvered Roman chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, matted centre, lacking hand, the four pillar movement with rectangular plates with cut corners, back plate signed indistinctly E.Oivin (?), anchor escapement with outside countwheel (detached) strike on bell, cheekboards replaced; movement and dial possibly associated to case -- 81¾in. (208cm.) high
