A pair of Glienitz parrot-jugs and covers
Circa 1765
Modelled as parrots perched on curved branches issuing from short tree-stumps, their necks forming spouts, the covers forming the upper part of their heads and beaks, the branches extending up to their shoulders to form handles, painted in grand and petit feu colours with turquoise, yellow and blue plumage, the wings with blue markings, the ochre beaks and clawed feet with dark-brown markings (left cover with crack around top of beak, right cover cracked through and restuck, very slight chipping and flaking to extremities of both)
