A PALE CELADON JADE 'PRUNUS' VASE AND COVER
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The vase is of flattened baluster form, with a pair of dragon-head handles with loose rings to the neck. The body is thickly carved with two birds perched on a large openwork prunus tree, detailed with branches of prunus blossoms growing from a thick large trunk emanating from a rockwork base. There is a chain linked to the openwork cover which is decorated with a bird perched on further branches of prunus. The stone of an even pale celadon tone.
