A Soviet propaganda porcelain plate
by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, period of Nicholas II, with later State Porcelian blue overglaze mark of hammer, sickle and cog, dated 1921
Circular, 'Proletariat of the World Unite', after a design by Rudolf Vilde, the centre with a black and white floral decorated figure '4' with the dates '1917-1921' in orange above and a wreath of coloured flowers around, emanating from a black pannier on the border, the slogan in black on the border within gilt bands, purple rim, marked under base
7 1/8 in. (8.1 cm.) diam.

All known examples of this plate (including the present) have the word LIVADIA written upside down and just visible, under the paint of the basket.
