TWO AGATE SNUFF BOTTLES
1780-1880
The larger is carved using the russet-brown areas of the warm grey stone with lotus leaves and grasses, and a small hovering insect on one side. The smaller is carved using brown areas of the pale grey stone on side with two buddhist lions, one with a brocade ball, and on the reverse with a cat laying on a rock as it looks up at a butterfly.
2 5/8 and 2 1/8 in. (6.6 and 5.5 cm.) high, glass stoppers, metal spoon
