LATE QING DYNASTY
One of semi-translucent white jade is of rectangular form and surmounted by a mythical beast with backward-turned head. The base is carved with three characters, Suianshi. The other is a double seal, comprised of two rectangular blocks joined by a strut that are carved from the dark grey area of the stone while the chilong on top is carved from the white area. The base of each seal is carved with four characters, one with yi zhi dai bi ('use finger instead of brush [to write]), the other tian long san mei (literally, 'sky, dragon, samadhi' [a higher level of meditation]).
1 7/8 in. (4.7 cm.) high and 1 3/16 in. (3 cm.) wide
