Late 18th/early 19th Century
The dial plate with black painted chapter ring with gilt painted Japanese characters, central red lacquered revolving disc with brass sunburst pointer, the iron movement with rectangular section posts, going train with verge escapement and foliot balance, strike train with countwheel strike on a deep bell with iron butterfly nut, wrap-around brass hinged doors and rear plate
