A GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF YAMANTAKA
18TH CENTURY
The figure is cast standing in alidhasana on prostrate bodies and animals over a lotus base, in yabyum position with his consort. His many arms radiate about him, each holding a different attribute and implement. The primary arms are shown grasping his consort and holding the curved knife and skull cap. Dressed in a tiger-skin below the waist, his three faces are adorned with a skull crown and surmounted by his hair rising into a flaming chignon.
