Northeastern India, Pala period, circa 11th century
Seated in dhyanasana on a double-lotus base over a lione throne centered by a chakra, his hands in bhumisparshamudra and clad in a diaphanous sanghati, the face serene with heavy-lidded downcast eyes centered by a raised urna, the hair in loose curls over the ushnisha, backed by a nimbus and torana supporting two stupas
