Un Salon par Alexis Mabille

Sale Overview

Christie’s is delighted to present A Salon by Alexis Mabille, an exhibition designed by Alexis Mabille to celebrate the taste of the greatest couturiers. A recognized figure in Haute Couture and a lover of decorative arts, Alexis Mabille extends his creative work to design.

In Paris, where fashion is more at home than in any other city in the world, those who create it have historically held a unique place. The couturiers of the past, like today’s designers, are also collectors, patrons, and key figures in the artistic and cultural life. The history of sales in Paris has been shaped by names such as Coco Chanel (1978), Karl Lagerfeld (2000), Jeanne Lanvin (2008), Yves Saint Laurent (2009), Hélène Rochas (2012), and Hubert de Givenchy (2017 and 2022). It is this unique Parisian spirit, along with the memory of its walls—once home to the renowned Maison Callot Sœurs—that Christie’s will host this unprecedented exhibition. The exhibition will be on view at Christie’s Paris from October 24 to November 19, free and open to all.
