A NORTH ITALIAN PARCEL-GILT AND BLUE LACQUERED DEMI-LUNE COMMODE
ATTRIBUTED TO GIUSEPPE MARIA BONZANIGO, PIEDMONT, LATE 18TH CENTURY
The moulded rosso levanto marble top above a frieze delicately carved with trailing entwined flower branches tied at the centre with a ribbon, above a central cupboard door carved with flowering swags centred by a ribbon-tied floral wreath, flanked by two smaller cupboard doors with conforming carved decoration, the apron floral carving entwined with that on the frieze, on square tapering legs with inset panels carved with beads, terminating in peg feet, later adapted to fit an apron drawer now fixed shut, refreshments to the decoration
