The Max N. Berry Family Collections

Event date 2025 – 2026 -
Event location 纽约
Collector, connoisseur, patron: Max N. Berry’s pursuit of art reflects both an insatiable curiosity and a discerning eye. A lifelong student, he cultivated close relationships with leading scholars and curators and collected with both instinct and rigor. That passion is captured in the highlights of this season, led by Winslow Homer and Albert Bierstadt’s paintings immortalizing the breadth and beauty of the American landscape — featured in a four-part auction series during Americana Week in January 2026.
For Berry, collecting was as much about the chase as the object: the research, the thrill of discovery and the lasting dialogue with cultures across time. From Chinese ceramics of the Tang dynasty to the radical experiments of European modernism, his collection spans centuries while remaining united by a singular point of view. The auctions comprising the collection trace that breadth, with highlights featured during the November 20th and 21st Century Art auctions, a curated selling exhibition of Hanukkah lamps and significant works of art offered as part of Asian Art Week in March.
