拍賣簡介

A singular American collecting story unfolds in A Treasured History: The Stream Family Collection — a story of two remarkable women, Matilda Geddings Gray and her niece, Matilda Gray Stream, whose shared vision shaped one of the most extraordinary private collections of the 20th century. Assembled over decades and preserved within one family until now, this important group comes to auction for the first time. It brings together a diverse collection of Fabergé and Russian works of art, including porcelain, enamel and silver objects, alongside exceptional jewels, featuring a group of whimsical and unique animal brooches from houses such as Cartier and Tiffany & Co. Highlights also include an exquisite Royal Copenhagen Porcelain ‘Flora Danica’ Service, a 14kt Gold Martini Set by Tiffany & Co., John James Audubon’s The Birds of America, and works by Ludwig Bemelmans, George Romney and Edward Ladell.

Defined by a legacy of connoisseurship and a close connection to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Stream Family Collection represents a rare convergence of history, artistry and personal vision.
