The second instalment of Spellbound: The Hegewisch Collection offers further insights into the complex, subtle mind of the collector Klaus Hegewisch. It is an enchanting, at times disconcerting, vision of the world as seen through the eyes of the artists he loved. The sale includes 500 years of European graphic arts, from Albrecht Dürer to David Hockney, via prints and drawings by Tiepolo, Carracci, Francisco de Goya, Menzel, Daumier, Bresdin, Klinger, Ensor, Degas, Cezanne, Kollwitz, Edvard Munch, Schiele, Grosz, Dix, Henri Matisse, Schlemmer, Giacometti and, of course, Pablo Picasso.
