The 20th and 21st Century Art auctions shaped a remarkable week at Christie’s, totalling $964,536,953 and achieving 90% sold by lot and 96% by value. The top lot of the series was Mark Rothko’s No. 31 (Yellow Stripe), from The Collection of Robert F. Patricia G. Ross Weis, which realised $62.1 million. Monet, Picasso and Hockney each surpassed $40 million in the 20th Century Evening Sale, while Christopher Wool led the 21st Century Evening Sale at $19.8 million.
