This autumn, Christie’s Hong Kong is honoured to present an exceptional array of Important Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art from distinguished private collections across the globe, all with notable provenance. Leading the sale is a magnificent blue and white and copper-red decorated ‘dragon’ tianqiuping dating to the Yongzheng period hailing from a noble family; further highlights include a Yongle blue and white basin formerly in the collection of the Idemitsu Museum of Arts; a group of fifteen ceramics from the Song to Yuan periods consigned by an Asian private collection led by a very rare Ding white-glazed kundika dating to the Northern Song dynasty; a group of Buddhist art works spanning from the 5th century to the 14th century; a group of seventeen huanghuali furniture from the Mingjishantang Collection; and a selection of important 17th century porcelain from the Butler Family Collection, UK.
