How do I register for a course?

Please register through each individual course page.

How do I pay for a course?

Please register and pay for courses online using our dedicated course pages.

Students can pay via debit/credit card, PayPal, or wire transfer. Please email education@christies.com to request an invoice.

How much do the courses cost?

Please refer to individual course pages for pricing information, including early-registration discounts.

What happens once I have registered and paid for my course?

For Online courses, you will be enrolled into the course on our dedicated LearnWorlds platform immediately on registration. The course will be available to you for 12 weeks after enrolment to facilitate your self-directed learning.

For Livestream and In-Person courses, you will receive detailed information about joining the course approximately one week before the start date of the course.

Are there any prerequisites for taking a course?

There are no prerequisites for taking any of our courses. Courses are structured by our expert educators to provide students with all they require to rigorously develop their understanding of the field of study.

What is the weekly time commitment of an Online course?

The time commitment varies depending on the course being studied, and each course includes expected study time in its description. The commitment to study can range between two and five hours. Students who wish to study more intensively will find they are able to spend many hours a week with the course.

Do I get a certificate at the end course?

Many of our courses provide a certificate of completion.

All Online courses provide a digital certificate of completion.

Taking the course

Where will the course take place?

In-person courses typically take place at a Christie's saleroom and may include visits to galleries, museums and private collections.

Livestream courses are hosted live on Zoom.

Online courses are available for instant self-directed study on our dedicated LearnWorlds platform.

Are the courses delivered live or pre-recorded?

All Online courses are pre-recorded and the entire programme is available for 12 weeks after enrolment to facilitate your self-guided journey.

All Livestream courses are delivered live.

All In-person courses are delivered live.

How many people join a course?

The number of participants varies depending on the course, however many of the courses fill up quickly. We recommend you register for our courses early to secure your place.

Is there an assessment on completion of the courses?

We do not usually conduct a formal assessment for students. However, for some of our courses, this is optional. Please refer to the course page or contact us for further information.

How long do I have access to an Online course?

All course material is available to you for 12 weeks after enrolment to facilitate your learning.

Are recordings of Livestream courses available?

Most of our lectures will be recorded. A private link to each lecture will be made available to students for 48 hours after the lecture has finished. On occasion, some lectures may not be recorded. Please check the course page online or contact us to confirm this. Students have two weeks after the lecture has finished to access the recording.

Accessibility

What languages are the courses delivered in?

Courses are offered in English. Some Online courses have Chinese subtitles or voiceover. Where this is available it is highlighted in the individual course page. Please refer to the individual course for more details. All courses also have closed-caption subtitles in English.

There are no formal language requirements however it will be expected of you to have a good comprehension of the language the course is delivered in.

Do the Online courses have subtitles?

All Online courses have closed-caption subtitles in English. This can be accessed by selecting captions in the video window within the learning platform.

Can I complete the Online course on my phone or tablet

Yes, Online courses can be viewed on mobile devices.

Refunds and further information

What are the booking and cancellation terms for In-person and Livestream courses?

Fees must be paid in full at the time of enrolment. Enrolment is on a strictly first come first served basis.

It is not possible to replace individual sessions that you are unable to attend with sessions on a future course.

Christie's Education reserves the right to alter the content and dates of all courses and to cancel advertised courses as a result of circumstances beyond its control. Notice of course cancellation will be received two weeks prior to the course starting date.

Should any student who has enrolled on a course find that they need to withdraw or transfer to a different course, please see below the details of the notice required for refunds and transfers.

More than 14 days before the start of the course

Withdrawal: 90% refund of course fee

Transfer: Administration fee equal to 10% of the course fee

14 days or less before the start of the course

Withdrawal: No refund

Transfer: No refund of original course fee; fee for new course payable in full

After the start of the course

Withdrawal: No refund

Transfer: No refund of original course fee; fee for new course payable in full

What are the booking and cancellation terms for Online courses?

You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in a Christie’s Online Course. You will need sufficient fluency in the language in which the Online Course is presented.

Cancellation by you

You have the right to cancel your contract for a Self-directed Online Course with Christie’s at any time within 14 days of your date of purchase. You shall receive a full refund of any payments you have made, unless such cancellation is made after you have accessed more than 10% of the course content, in which case you will be required to pay for any part of your Online Course accessed. This amount will be calculated by Christie’s on a pro rata basis.

To exercise your cancellation rights as set out above, please inform us by email at education@christies.com. Please write the name of your course in the subject-line of your email.

This cancellation right is provided to you in line with the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) but applies regardless of whether you are a buyer located in the EU acting as a consumer and not for business purposes.

If you cancel your registration in an Online Course at any time after the period described above, you will not be entitled to a refund, except in exceptional circumstances, which will be entirely at the discretion of Christie’s. If a refund is granted to you, an administration fee may be charged.

Cancellation by us

Christie’s reserves the right to cancel the Online Course by giving you notice in writing (including by email) at any time before the course is due to start. Christie’s will refund all fees paid by you and if possible, will endeavour to offer a transfer to another course as an alternative, subject to payment or refund of any difference in purchase price.

Christie’s liability when it cancels an Online Course will be limited to a refund of the Fee or any other charges paid for the cancelled Online Course. For partial cancellation of an Online Course, such refunds will be made on a proportionate basis.

Is Christie’s Education accredited?

Christie's Education is not accredited.
