Christie’s Hong Kong Chinese Paintings live sales totalled HK$225,167,460 / US$29,152,138, with close to half of the lots sold above high estimate!
Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy realised HK$104,619,720 / US$13,544,979, with Poon Family Collection’s ‘Album of Small Standard Script Calligraphy’ by Zhu Yunming, Wang Duo, and others, achieving HK$13,080,000 / US$1,693,451, more than double its high estimate.
Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings achieved HK$120,547,740 / US$15,607,159, headlined by Zhang Daqian’s ‘In Search of Paradise’, which was sold for HK$14,290,000 / US$1,850,108.
