The construction of this chain is very similar to that of the chain of the pierced bronze mosque lamp in the David Collection, dateable to the 10th century (Folsach, Kjeld, v.: Islamic Art, the David Collection, Copenhagen, 1990, no.303, p.187). Cast and pierced panels are linked by spherical beads with loops above and below. The hooks are also of almost identical proportion, as is the domed upper link.
