OTTOMAN TURKEY, DATED JUMADA I AH 1302/FEBRUARY-MARCH 1885 AD
Arabic manuscript on paper, the ijaza with a panel of large black thuluth script at top, a panel with two lines of black naskh script, each within cloud on gold ground, each panel framed with gold, bordered at either side and below with oval medallions with signatures of the scribe's teachers as (from right to left) Muhammad Nash'at a student of Sami Efendi, Muhammad al-Nuri a student of Mir 'Abdillah known as Muhsin Zadeh, Muhmmad Rahmi a student of Muhsin Zadeh (and?) al-Sayyid 'Abdullah and Muhammad Sami, the ground densily worked in gold and polychrome, laid down on green card with gold and silver floral illumination between pink gold illuminated borders, framed and glazed, good condition overall
