Fine examples of drawings and watercolors from the 17th century to the present day make up an exciting range of images by the great masters of the medium.
Among the important works on offer are two previously unrecorded works by William Alexander relating to Miscellaneous notices relating to China, published in 1822; a drawing of Elizabeth, Duchess of Devonshire, by Sir Thomas Lawrence; a watercolor version of the now lost oil painting, The letter 'From an absent one' by Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema.
Other artists featured in the sale include Joseph Mallord William Turner, John Constable, John Ruskin, Ernest Arthur Rowe, Sir William Russell Flint, John Piper, William Scott and Walter Langley.
