The 20th and 21st Century Art auctions concluded in New York, totalling US$689 million across eight sales. The week was highlighted by MICA: THE COLLECTION OF MICA ERTEGUN Part I and II, which were 100 per cent sold, and anchored by Magritte’s L’empire des lumières, which achieved an artist record and the highest price for a Surrealist work of art at auction.
