Hans-Peter Keller took over the Swiss Art department at Christie’s in 2001. Mr. Keller is an art historian who studied art history and archeology at the University of Zurich. He is the specialist in charge of Swiss paintings, works on paper and sculptures, from the 18th century to the present day, as well as being responsible for the auctions Christie’s holds twice a year in Zurich. Under his leadership the department has established many world records for Swiss art, amongst others for Max Bill, Giovanni Giacometti, Ferdinand Hodler and Félix Vallotton. Thanks to the close connection to the Giacometti family, Christie’s was able to sell the Estate of the Late Bruno Giacometti, Alberto Giacometti’s youngest brother. Hans-Peter Keller not only advised Martin Suter on his bestselling novel Der letzte Weynfeldt (The Last Weynfelt), he even played a role in the film adaption. Since 2010 Hans-Peter Keller is on the board of the Kirchner Verein, the association of the Kirchner Museum in Davos.
