New York City native Dalia Oberlander is no stranger to the luxury world. The Founder and CEO of Latest Revival has a decade of professional experience in the business of collecting objets d'art. She began her career at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, and then did a stint at Sotheby's in their American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture department. Afterward, she moved over to Sotheby's Emerging Markets division, where she began a love affair with jewelry that persists to this day. Oberlander is a strong supporter of the arts, and is co-chair of the Whitney Museum’s Artists Council, as well as a member of the Contemporary Council for The Robert Wilson Watermill Center. The PurseBlog founder is a “firm believer in using your bags to truly accessorize”
In 2005, Megs Mahoney was on a swimming scholarship at Ohio State University when she was injured. While Mahoney was recovering, her then boyfriend, Vlad Dusil, registered the domain name PurseBlog.com, knowing that her obsession with luxury handbags could lead to something big. Nine years later, Megs and Vlad are happily married, and together command the Internet’s largest site dedicated to news and reviews of designer handbags. With respect to buying handbags online, Megs has a simple and direct approach: “What do I like and how can I get it?” As the Florida native told Christie’s in a recent phone interview, she bought her first Birkin bag seven years ago, at the Hermés store in New York City: “I had been eyeing it for as long as I can remember,” she explained, “I felt like it was fate—that it was there for me when I needed it.” Megs often wears subdued hues, and is “a firm believer in using your bags to truly accessorize”.
