A PAIR OF RUBY AND DIAMOND-SET BRACELETS

Cf. Melissa Gabardi, "Art Deco Jewellery 1920-1949", The Antique Collectors' Club, Suffolk, 1989, page 199

The fashion for tank tack bracelets probably derived from things observed by designers during the First World War. Their geometric features were also a result of the new "Machine Aesthetic", perpetuated by such artists as Fernand Léger (1881-1955), as well as the Artist-Jewellers.
