Half title in volumes I, III-V, titles in red and black, large engraved headpiece in each volume, 505 engraved plates only (lacking plate no. 38, most volumes lightly waterstained, stronger in vol. III, a few leaves lightly browned, occasional soiling in vol. IV). Contemporary sheep, crowned monogram "CM" stamped in black on sides, spines lavishly decorated in gilt, morocco lettering-pieces (head and tail of spines chipped, quite rubbed).
