Specialist note

This work probably dates from a short holiday the Bells took staying at a farmhouse near St. Rémy rented by Dorelia John, they were there for just over two weeks after Christmas 1936. (see B. Laughton, The Euston Road School, Aldershot, 1986, p.132.)
