Circa 1760, blue crossed swords mark at back of base
Modelled standing, taking bread from his hip-pouch, wearing a black hat, his hair about his shoulders, in a waistcoat, pink flared three-quarter length trousers and yellow shoes with red ribbons, a dog jumping up at his side and a sheep at his feet, on an elaborate scroll-moulded base (restoration to shoulders, hat, drapery, scrolls, chipping to flowers and foliage to base)
