A CONTINENTAL FLINTLOCK MUSKET, similar to the French grenadier 1822 model, with bright iron barrel, bright flat bevelled lock with reinforced cock, brass pan, ebonized walnut full stock (minor bruising), bright iron mounts each struck with a mark, a 'W' in a circle, including two barrel-bands, the rear one held by a spring, spring-held pierced muzzle-band forming the fore-sight and front ramrod-pipe, sling swivels, original bright ramrod, and in unfired condition, the butt with recessed cheek-piece and oval brass plaque (inscription erased), early 19th Century, possibly Swiss
