Date cypher for 1898, black printed globe and uppercase raised marks, impressed shape no. 3329, probably designed by Léon V. Solon
Relief-moulded with exotic blossoms in the Art Nouveau taste and reserved on a foliate block-printed ground, the mouth with stylized tendrils and pendant swags
17in. (43.1cm.) diam.

Specialist note

Léon Solon was the son of Louis Solon and the grandson of Léon Arnoux. At Mintons he is recognized in his own right as a leading proponent and designer of Mintons most successful Art Nouveau range, 'Secessionist Ware'.
