Of rectangular form, decorated in kakamaki-e and hiramaki-e lacquer, the hinged lid decorated with a tiger, enclosing a hinged velvet-lined writing surface with a nashiji lacquer-decorated compartment, fitted with compartments for writing implements, with a side drawer, the sides of the case decorated with lions and landscapes
5¾ in. (14.5 cm.) high, 18 in. (46 cm.) wide, 10½ in. (26.5 cm.) deep
