Each made up of 24 engraved and coloured paper gores, the terrestrial showing the tracks of Capt. Cook, his voyages, New Holland and Van Diemen's Land joined, the celestial showing the constellations drawn as mythical beasts, figures and scientific instruments, the stars shown by magnitude, both globes with many old surface abrasions, cracks and repairs and paper loss, with engraved brass meridian circles, the oak horizon rings lacking printed paper cards, on four quadrant supports from the baluster-turned central pillar with tripod stand, the cabriole legs terminating in pad feet
each 80cm. high (2)
