Finely carved around the sides with a scene of a scholar gazing out of a river-side pavilion, with a fisherman working below and an attendant carrying a wine pot and an umbrella standing on the opposite bank, the openwork handle at one end formed by the trunk and branches of a pine tree, shading from honey color at the rim to blackish brown towards the hollow foot
