Lot Essay

This endangered species strap is shown for display purposes only and is not for sale. The watch will be supplied with a calf leather strap.

Audemars Piguet produced the Royal Oak reference 15300 between 2005 and 2012 in a variety of metals. Notably, it was the first Royal Oak model to feature Audemars Piguet's in-house Caliber 3120, a self-winding movement that replaced the Caliber 2121, an ultra-thin movement.

Reference 15300 had the same case size as the original Royal Oak Ref. 5402 at 39 mm., but there were subtle differences in the dial. The presence of a large applied AP logo at 12 o’ clock was a clear visual distinction. Audemars Piguet introduced the Royal Oak 15400 series in 2012 to replace the reference 15300 models.
