CHRISTIE’S JUNE AUCTIONS OF IMPRESSIONIST AND MODERN ART REALISE £89.3MILLION / $139.9 MILLION / €104.7 MILLION
Christie’s auctions of Impressionist and Modern Art in London between 18 and 21 June realised £89,341,713 / $139,981,526/ €104,713,989, with international bidding from new and established collectors at every price level of the market. The top price from the series of sales was paid for Wassily Kandinsky’s rare Expressionist masterpiece Studie zu Improvisation 3, 1909, which sold for £13,501,875/ $21,157,438 /€15,851,201 (estimate: £12-16 million). In total, 18 lots sold for over £1 million (24 for over $1 million).
