Achille-Etna Michallon*(French, 1794-1822)

This unusual study by the artist may have come into the Duban collection in the same way as the Boisselier study (lot 24). Michallon and Boisselier, both students of Bertin at one time, won the Prix de Rome for the historical landscape in 1817 and visited Italy at the same time.
