Duncan Grant (1885-1978)

Grant made several day visits to the Sussex port of Newhaven from home at Charleston, to paint the boats and harbour and the nearby cliffs. A similar view by Vanessa Bell is in the Virginia and Leonard Woolf collection, Monk's House, Rodmell.

We are very grateful to Richard Shone for his assistance in preparing the catalogue entry for this lot and the following lots by Duncan Grant (93-102).
