Gaston La Touche (French, 1854-1913)

In Volume VI of the Academy Notes, Buffalo, the painting is described as follows: "The large composition is charming, the cool tones of the color scheme centering in the white-hooded barge draped with garlands; the woman bathing and the clustered swans are delightfully drawn. The whole is the daintiest of decorations."

We are grateful to Roy Brindley and Selina Evans for their assistance in preparing this catalogue entry.
