VASI, Giuseppe (1710-1782). Prospetto d'alma citta di Roma visto dal Monte Gianicolo. Rome: 1765.
Engraved panorama of Rome by Vasi on 12 sheets (comprising 6 large sheets 790 x 580mm and 6 small sheets, with indices, 395 x 580mm, overall image area 1015 x 2610mm.) (Some light marginal spotting and small tears.) Unbound as issued, modern morocco-backed cloth portfolio.
A fine copy of this magnificent panorama. Not only is its sheer size quite breathtaking but, as Frutaz writes, 'Con questa splendida veduta panoramica di Roma si può veramente avere un'idea precisa della città nel secolo XVIII.' It was later reissued in Milan in 1829 on 18 sheets. Frutaz Le Piante di Roma I, CLXXI; Arrigoni and Bertarelli 171. (12)
