CIRCA 1730, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK AND INDISTINCT BLUE MARK, THE COVER LATER
Each facet with a recessed panel decorated in underglaze blue, overglaze enamels and gilding with reeds issuing from fences with quatrefoil Böttger-lustre panels and flowering branches of indianische Blumen issuing from stylised rockwork, the later cover with indianische Blumen within a red circle and edged with a gilt band (restored chipping to neck)
Approximately 9.8 cm. high overall (2)

This rare pattern with lustre quatrefoils does not appear in Rainer Rückert's Meissener Porzellan (Münich, 1966), the catalogue of the Hoffmeister Collection in Hamburg or in the Wark Collection, Jacksonville, Florida.
