PUBLISHED:
H. Bloesch et al., Das Tier in der Antike, Zurich, 1974, p. 32, no. 188, pl. 30.

The powerful bull's head, embodying strength, power and virility is contrasted with the feminine Eros in a characteristically Hellenistic juxtaposition.
